You should really go plant a tree, because that's what we're gonna do. If some of this is right, we'll plant 1000 trees anyway. If everything ends up being wrong, we'll plant 1000 trees. We truly want to highlight how impossible it is to confirm or know for sure what will come after Blizzcon, but we do want to point out the more exciting and legit looking theories out there. I don't PvP anymore but, respect those that have the skill and determination to continue doing it because it's an aspect of the game they enjoy.Update: Added new Overwatch 2 information. By that time, I wasn't into PvP very much and just wanted to play and joy the game, I was lucky enough to have guildies that felt the same way so we just moved our toons to another server and that was it, no use complaining about it it wasn't going to help or change anything. It was fun until Cata launched and there were players that got to max level quickly and just sat around greifing lower level players to the point where you couldn't progress or level. When I first started to play, I followed a buddy of mine onto Lagging Skull, It was a PvP server and I got the hang of it fairly quickly. Worst case, I'll log off or log to another character, but I won't complain that someone is PvPing on a PvP server which I voluntarily decided to participate in. If someone starts killing me non-stop, instead of whining I try to find clever ways to hide / escape from the ganker or find people to help me counter them. I accept the fact that I'm on a PvP server and some people will want to gank people, including me. I will fight back if someone is the aggressor, and I will do my best to punish them. I guess people defending """"""""PvP""""""""""" are gankers themselves. Still not as bad as phase 2 though Comment by ZebulaJams on T10:34:31-05:00 They weren’t intended to be played with so many people on a server, thus we have layers. I think you guys are confused with genuine world pvp vs the absolute overpopulated gank fest that these servers are. Comment by EXPERIMENTONGOD on T08:56:54-05:00 So, pvp is happening on a pvp realm? Comment by 2245526 on T08:05:02-05:00 There's a huge difference between encountering someone, them killing you and moving on, and them repeatedly killing you every time you revive and preventing you from doing anything. If you don't like it then you don't belong on one. It's what you get when you pick a pvp server. Layer hopping is extremely useful for finding resources in the open world, getting away from enemy players harassing you, looking for a particular mob for a quest, or even just to see some fresh faces in other players on your layer. For example, "Looking for Layer hop, not Layer 1" would be a common way to ask. With this enabled, players can track what layer they are on and ask for a "Layer Hop" and specify they want to go to any layer other than the one they are on. With this addon, there is a setting in the configuration menu "Show Minimap Layer", which will display a Layer number on your Minimap.Īt first, it will show No Layer on the Minimap, but after you target a neutral NPC, it will update with your current layer. One of the most popular tools for tracking what layer you are on is an addon known as Nova World Buffs. Thus, you have what is known as "Layer Hopping" where players will intentionally join a group to access a different layer. Each layer has a population cap and once that population reaches the maximum, new players logging in will be sent to a different layer.īecause players group up for various content in Classic, it wouldn't make sense if players on different layers couldn't group up together. Basically, each realm on Classic has multiple versions of the entire world (called "layers"), all stacked on top of one another. Layers are a new technology Blizzard created for Classic, similar to the Sharding system on Retail World of Warcraft. We're highlighting some general tips and terms for new players-this spotlight is on Layer Hopping. With Burning Crusade Classic's launch, many players are going through the Dark Portal for the first time or coming back to the game after a long hiatus.
